Grad Party!

Okay…the long awaited directions to my party! If you are coming from Poplarville, get on 26 going towards Bogalusa. You are going to go about 20-25 minutes down 26 when you come to a sign on the right that says “Buck Branch School Rd”. There will be 2 bright pink balloons on the sign. So you have just turned right…go straight down the road until you have reached a T in the road, there will also be big obnoxious pink balloons (because I like them). Turn right again. The T is where you get on to HWY 43. You will see Bethel Baptist Church and then on your right (not even 2 minutes down the road) There will be big pink balloons on a sign that says “Seal”. Turn down the drive way and there you go! So in smaller terms, for ever pink balloon you see, you turn right! No lefts! And there will only be three right turns… Easy enough! The Address to my grandma’s is 7522 HWY 43 North. If you wanted to type it into map quest or yahoo, I am sorry to say that they are the wrong directions and lead you into no where! So if you have any problems getting there I will have my cell phone on at all times. It is the RSVP number you received in the invitation! Also there is an important reminder! PLEASE BRING A SWIM SUIT AND TOWEL! This is a swimming party, kids! If you don’t bring something to swim in, you will go in with your clothes on! I warned you!

Al Neuharth is the MAN!

Here we go boys and girls! I actually won the scholarship! Remember in a previous article I had mentioned a $50,000 scholarship I was applying for? Well I’m good, but not that good yet! I am the female Mississippi representative for the 2007 Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship! Hurray! At the moment they are giving me a $1,000 scholarship and an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. March 17-22! I am very excited about this trip and once I get there I will have the opportunity to be selected for the $50,000 grand prize! A boy and a girl from each state and the District of Columbia were chosen to go and I have already had the pleasure of talking to a few of them…needless to say I can hang with these people! I am so excited to finally meet the same people who share my passion for the news and maybe a little politics! For more information on the story go to www.poplarvilleschools.org (http://www.poplarvilleschools.org/)! Baby Barlow was kind enough to write up an article for me and I believe it is on the second page by now…it’s been up for a while! For all of you from Al Neuharth who are reading this…I love you and I can’t wait to meet you all! Especially John and MaryJo….I feel like I already know you two! I also recieved a $10,000 Lucky Day Scholarship to USM! That was a big boost for the college fund baby!

Nerd Fest 2007

During the month of February 2007, the Poplarville High School Beta Club traveled all the way to Tupelo Mississippi (yay Elvis) for the 2007 Mississippi Beta Club Convention! Or as the rest of us like to call it…Nerd Fest 2007! Hurray! Our journey began on a really cool charter bus that was graciously paid for by our candy fundraising abilities…yes we are that good! And later we ended the first day of our journey in the worst Microtel I have ever stayed at in my life! Marilyn, Gabby and I were forced to stay our night in a beautiful room with a role out couch/bed that ate us every time we attempted to sleep in it! As you can see it made really good pictures… Later on the next day my good buddy Michael ran for state president! We were so proud! And my boyfriend was cool enough to dress up like a blues brother along with Baby Barlow for his skit…unfortunately that night we lost…but on to better news we were moved to a Holiday Inn Express…YAY! That was so much nicer! We had an amazing time! I made a lot of new friends and had a few experiences that I will never forget for the rest of my life! Here is too you Nerd Fest 2007 (raises can of coca-cola)…here is to you!

Where did she go?!

Hello party people! I am so sorry for the MAJOR lack of updating! Life is busy and I have a billion things on my plate at the moment…or at least for the last couple of months! And in those months a LOT of stuff has happened (and of course I was snapping pictures the entire time)…and mostly all good! Hurray! On September 1st I found the man of my dreams! And we are about to come up on our 2 month anniversary… (Insert awww here). West has been the number one thing that has taken up the majority of my time because I can’t freakin’ stay away from him…I’m addicted…and in love…and frankly because I’m so happy with him, I could give a crap less about what else is going on in the world around me…I’m happy… And of course where would I be with out Dance Team season?! And believe it or not, we are actually going to a national competition this year in Orlando! I know, I was shocked too, and I have been waiting for it to fall through for months… WE ARE REALLY GOING!!! Even though I have to leave West for four days… (Insert sniff here) As all of you know, I am a big bad senior this year! What has really shocked the to-dos-it out of me is that I am freakin’ depressed! Every time I get a college letter or apply for a scholarship I have to pull myself together… I have been waiting for this for 12 years now, and I can’t believe I am reacting this way. I was always so excited about going to college, but now I am scared to death! There are a bunch of problems that have just recently entered my mind… Moving out of my house (yeah sure I’ll be back, but still)Living on a really big campusLearning to drive around where ever I’m goingBeing 30 miles away from West 5 days out of the week (that’s the biggest one)Not knowing anyone So there you go people…the once strong and sure of herself Seal has totally lost it…and we will all pray that she pulls herself together before August… Oh and I made Homecoming Court! HA! Can you believe it?! After three dad gum years of wanting to be on it, it finally happened! And it was a blast! My dress and my suit were beautiful! My dad was also really happy that he got to be pimped out in a new suit… And my wonderful driver/pep rally escort West looked amazing for all three nights…man I’m lucky!

Lost and Found

After doing lots and lots of research and exploring, the StephanieSeal.com crew found Orvisburg at the beginning of June. Sadly during that entire month we were only able to go out one time…which is not nearly enough when you are doing research… So Orvisburg was done with as far as I was concerned… But then I went to FastWeb.com and found out about a $50,000 scholarship that they were offering for any high school senior who was planning on majoring in Radio, Television, and Film, and had done their own research project…um hello…Orvisburg? So there you go kids…Orvisburg is up and running one last time and Tina Knoll has been gracious enough to give us another month pass out to the long lost city… Yesterday, Joseph, Bud and I took a trip back and we were once again mesmerized by the wonder and mystery that surrounded Orvisburg. We got a ton of awesome footage too! But that’s not all…the entire week of the 4th my crew and I will be filming in Orvisburg almost everyday! So if any of my regular viewers would like an opportunity to see the grave yards and the town itself, please e-mail me no later than Monday night and I will work you into our filming schedule. My e-mail is stephi@stephanieseal.com (mailto:stephi@stephanieseal.com) The Orvisburg video will be up no later than July 30, because there is another scholarship that would also take this footage for $10,000. Get ready because when this film is up it will be posted on StephanieSeal.com, Poplarville.com, and will hopefully be aired on WLOX to fulfill both scholarship requirements. But for my StephanieSeal.com viewers, there will be a second video of all the behind the scenes footage that shows what really happened when a bunch of teens and a very expensive camera were left alone out in the woods…how fun…so stay tuned for more info!
