Here we go boys and girls!  I actually won the scholarship!  Remember in a previous article I had mentioned a $50,000 scholarship I was applying for?  Well I’m good, but not that good yet!  I am the female Mississippi representative for the 2007 Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship!  Hurray!  At the moment they are giving me a $1,000 scholarship and an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. March 17-22!  I am very excited about this trip and once I get there I will have the opportunity to be selected for the $50,000 grand prize!

A boy and a girl from each state and the District of Columbia were chosen to go and I have already had the pleasure of talking to a few of them…needless to say I can hang with these people!  I am so excited to finally meet the same people who share my passion for the news and maybe a little politics!  For more information on the story go to www.poplarvilleschools.org!   Baby Barlow was kind enough to write up an article for me and I believe it is on the second page by now…it’s been up for a while!

For all of you from Al Neuharth who are reading this…I love you and I can’t wait to meet you all!  Especially John and MaryJo….I feel like I already know you two!

I also recieved a $10,000 Lucky Day Scholarship to USM!  That was a big boost for the college fund baby!
